Obesity is a growing concern for children and their parents that care for them. Fortunately, summer is here and parents have the chance to help their children stay active and fit with the proper toys. The warm weather gives parents a timely opportunity to help kids play away that winter weight.

There are a wide variety of outdoor toys available that offer kids the chance to go outside and get some exercise while enjoying themselves. However, few toys offer a good cardiovascular workout for children. Playgrounds, small pools and other toys commonly found in backyards just offer short bursts of activity at best.

Childhood obesity is a serious health concern for today's children. As parents, we can help direct our kids to the best toys that will give them important health benefits for the remainder of their lives.
