Retailers will slash their prices during the holiday seasons because they know shoppers are out in full force. They hold these sales in hopes of bringing eager shoppers to their stores. If you're looking for one of these toys you may just have to wait until after the holiday season has passed if you don't act quickly.

It's likely that you could find these popular sold out toys on auction sites like eBay, but you can expect to pay a pretty penny for them in most cases. Sellers will deliberately purchase a large quantity of certain toys that they know they can make a profit on. Though this seems a bit unfair to the people who actually want to buy the toys for their children, it happens every single year without fail. To save money, it's best to avoid shopping on eBay for popular toys because they can get way overpriced and you may be left with buyer's remorse which can be frustrating. Why help sellers who are purely after taking your money and making a profit on hot ticket items? It's just not fair.

You can also watch for toy sales to occur at the end or beginning of each of the seasons. During the spring, you're likely to find summer toys such as pools and outdoor things going on sale, whereas during the fall months, you'll be more likely to find indoor toys or sleds for playing outside in the snow.

Toy sales are held pretty frequently, you just have to be on the look out and be ready to take advantage of them. If you do some research, you'll rarely pay retail prices for new toys.
